Annual Regional Retreat

Sunday, July 15th, 2012

Dominican Sisters of the Trinidad Region of the Congregation of St. Catherine of Siena gathered in Mayaro for seven days of Retreat from July 8-14, 2012.  The Retreat was preached by Fr. Don Chambers of Jamaica who explored the theme of the upcoming General Chapter “Fired by the Spirit, We dare to Preach”.  In addition to his thoughtful presentations, Fr. Don invited Sisters to enter into different methods of prayer and then to share the fruits of contemplation in small groups.  He also challenged each person to listen attentively to the testimonies and stories of the elderly Sisters which often contained much wisdom.

The Dominican Sisters thank Fr. Don for preaching our retreat 2012.  May Almighty God bless him abundantly.

Deceased Sisters remembered on All Souls

Photos: Sisters visited  Lapeyrouse Cemetery on November 2 – Feast of All Souls. All the Dominican Sisters of Trinidad and Tobago are interred there (except for those buried at Cacachacare) along with the Sisters of Rosary Monastery, the Dominican Fathers and diocesan priests. There was a simple Service, the highpoint of which was the reading out of the names of all the Dominican Sisters who are buried there.
